Excellent café with amazing views! The food was excellent, the prices were very reasonable, and overall it was a lovely experience.
My only suggestion would be to have a quieter seating area for those who would like to relax and enjoy the stunning views in peace. The inside can get quite noisy, while the outdoor area is also affected by the playground across the outdoor seating area.
Other than that, a really lovely café and definitely worth a visit!
EDIT:
We unfortunately have to revise our review and remove another star following an experience that left us quite concerned.
On the same evening of our visit, both my husband and I developed an upset stomach, followed by diarrhoea and other unpleasant symptoms, which took around a week to fully clear. We hadn’t eaten anything else that day, and we had both had the mushroom soup, shared the sausage rolls and a toastie.
The toastie had a slightly unusual taste, although nothing at the time that made us think it was unsafe. We also noticed that the sausage rolls did not appear to be thoroughly baked, and we wondered afterwards whether the meat may not have been cooked through properly.
Of course, we cannot say for certain what caused our symptoms, but the timing and the fact that we were both affected naturally raised concerns for us.
We would therefore encourage the owners to take this as a gentle but important warning and perhaps review food preparation and cooking procedures, particularly ensuring that meat products are cooked thoroughly and safely.
It is a shame, as we initially had a very positive impression of the café, with excellent views, reasonable prices and good options for food.
We hope this was an isolated incident and that the necessary care is being taken to ensure other customers have a safe and enjoyable experience.

What a day! We had an amazing time in our camper visiting the Limerick Greenway. We parked at the Barnagh Greenway Hub. They have a secure car park where you can happily go for your cycle , run or walk with peace of mind. This place was fantastic . It is right bang in the middle of this Greenway section. We decided to cycle to Listowel . What a treat is was to cycle on our tandem on the smooth and safe space. When we returned to the Hub we treated ourselves to some soup , home made brown bread and of course pastries & coffee in Platform 22 Cafe. While we had our coffee on the terrace we took in the views of the well kept garden and grounds. The Barnagh Hub was buzzing with people, families and of course it is dog friendly. They have lots of parking, amenities and activities for everyone. We met the owner who was so lovely and made us feel very welcome. We complimented her on the service , the quality and value for money she and the staff provided. We found her very family oriented and nothing was a problem. We would 100% recommend spending time here while visiting the Limerick Greenway. A huge Thank you to Olive for her hospitality . See you again soon . Martina and David

Interior was wonderful and the coffee was delicious. Bathrooms were clean and pleasant. There's a lovely path that you can take to a sitting area not far from the cafe.
While we loved the experience, the radio station was loud and new age. It was a Christmas visit would have enjoyed Christmas music as we enjoyed the Christmas decorations. Other than this, the atmosphere was excellent 🎄
Barnagh overlooking the golden vale. Counties cork tipperary visible from here. Great stop off on the great western trail. Food, drinks, and playground here. What a beautiful autumnal day overlooking the Golden vale. We have all enjoyed the wonderful Greenway stretching through our unblemished countryside the great southern trail. But at the very top of barnagh is platform 21 for a well deserved pit stop. Wonderful refreshments and delicious home cooked foods.
I must admit i was totally blown out by Barnagh Gardens which I think may be overshadowed by the success of the Greenway.
Really beautiful Trees ponds and trails.
It would make a magical winterland theme piece. I would seriously recommend a visit to the Gardens
